How do Pregnancy
Tests
work?
When you become pregnant your body starts to produce the pregnancy hormone,
Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG). The amount of HCG in your body doubles
every 2 – 3 days in the early stages of pregnancy, and reaches a
maximum at around 7 – 12 weeks into the pregnancy.

Tests work by detecting the presence of
HCG in urine. They are all over 99% accurate in laboratory tests when
used from the day your period is due. Some of the tests in the range are
sensitive enough to be used up to 4 days before your period is due.
