Hi
I am a first time IVF transfer - blacosyst transfer at 5 days. I have my blood test due on day 12 after the transfer.
I know we are always told not to do home preg tests - just wait until the blood test. But the reason the nurses say this is because it may read positive from the hormone injections I have had to give myself - 4 injections in total.
I couldn't help myself and did a home preg test at Day 7, Day 8, Day 9, Day 10 and Day 11. My blood test is tommorrow - 12 May 2006.
All the urine tests have come back negative - except day 9 - and that was because i had taken my 4th hormone injection the day before. Also - note it was ever so slight a blue mark - it could almost be confused for an evaporation mark and not a positive.
To me - I am now convinced I am not pregnant. I mean surely if I was and also injectioning myself with hormones I would have resulted in a positive by now?
The preg tests say it can detect a pregnancy at 25ml - what will a blood test be able to detect on Day 12 to confirm a definite pregnancy?
Also - because I did blacosyst and the embryo went in 5 days developed - should this have any impact on the expected amount of hormones my body is producing. For example a home pre tests say they can detect as early as between 7 and 10 days. Does the 5 day old embryo count towards those days - or is is 7 to 10 dyas that the embryo has been implanted in my womb.
The final question I have is about body temperature. I was told my my naturalpath to keep an eye on my body temp - as if it dropped below 36.5 - it may mean my period would come/may loose egg. Just wondering - do the hormone injections actually raise my temp anyway? Is it possible to get my period whilst injectioning - and finally - if I am not pregnant - how soon would a perosn get there period after stopping the injections?
I have read the board and it seems a lot of comments are about period pains. I alos have had cramps on and of for the last two weeks- just slight. Last night Day 11 for the first time the cramps woke me 3 times.
Sorry - I have a lot of questions - but I have had so much time to ponder them all. I am sure time goes slower when you really want something to happen.
THank You
